St. Mary's School: Student Dress Code

Pants

Colors: Navy Blue, Khaki, and Black
Fabric: Cotton or Twill. No Jeans, Denim, Corduroy, Sweat or Wind Pants, or Gauchos.
No sparkles or embroidery. Capri pants are allowed.
No jeggings or leggings are to be worn as “pants.”

Shorts

Colors: Navy Blue, Khaki , and Black
Fabric:  Cotton or Twill. No Jeans, Denim, or Corduroy shorts. 
Must be APPROPRIATE Mid-Thigh length with No holes!

 Skirts 

Colors: Navy Blue, Khaki, Black and Plaid
Fabric:  Cotton or Twill. No Jeans, Denim, or Corduroy skirts.  
Must be APPROPRIATE Mid-Thigh Length! 
Plaid jumpers are acceptable.

Shirts

Colors: Navy Blue, Red, White, Yellow/Gold, Dark Green
(No Light Blue, No Maroon/ Burgundy, & No Denim) 
Short or long sleeve Polo’s                               All shirts must have buttons, sleeves, and a collar.
Short or long sleeve Oxfords                           No more than two buttons unbuttoned.

Sweaters

School colors: Navy Blue, Red, White, Yellow/Gold, Dark Green.  Sweaters should be plain – no logos. A shirt with a collar must be worn under the sweater.  The shirt must be tucked in.

Sweatshirts/
Cardigans

Sweatshirts/Cardigans should be Navy Blue, Red, White, Yellow/Gold, Dark Green, Grey or Black. 
They must be plain or imprinted with the official school logo.  Damascus sweatshirts are also acceptable.
They can either be the hoody style or crew neck.  A shirt with a collar must be worn under the sweatshirt.
The shirt must be tucked in.

T-Shirts

Only plain white t-shirts may be worn under your shirt. The t-shirt must be tucked in.

Socks

Socks must be worn at all times even with sandals.

Belts

Belts may be worn but must be standard dress belt in brown, black, or solid color belt.

Tattoos/
Piercings

Tattoos must be covered. Students may not have any piercings on the face, such as nose rings, eyebrow rings,
tongue rings, etc

Shoes

Shoes can be dress, tennis, crocs, or sandals.
Socks must be worn. 
Tennis shoes must be worn for gym class   on Tuesday & Thursdays for safety reasons.

Hair

Hair must be its natural color. No extreme cuts or styles.

Make-Up

Light make-up may be worn.

Nail Polish

Nail polish is permitted.

Perfume/ 
Cologne

Perfume/cologne is not permitted.

 *Dress code shorts may be worn on Mass days. 

*Thursday is spirit day.  On Thursdays, students may wear jeans (no holes), and a St. Mary’s School t-shirt or any top within the dress code. 

*Gym shoes are required for PE class on Tuesday and Thursdays.    

*The principal reserves the right to make the judgement of appropriate dress.
