Announcements 9/5/24 What do fish use to wash their clothes? Tide We will finish the I-Ready Diagnostic testing today. We will begin at 7:45 and will finish at 10. Today is the first day for 8th Grade Pretzels. Parents, tomorrow is the last day to turn in the Scholarship Granting Organization Request form. Please turn all requests into the office. Prayer for First Responders Lord, I ask you through the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel, to watch over all men and women who so generously devote themselves to helping others. Grant them courage when afraid, wisdom when they make quick decisions , strength when weary, and compassion in all their work. When the alarm sounds and they are called to aid both friend and stranger, let them faithfully serve you in their neighbors. Amen.

9/3/24 Today is the 1st day for Caterpillar Class! Sunday was Maria Clapp's birthday! Be sure to wish her a happy birthday! Friday is the deadline to turn in applications for the SGO Scholarship forms. 6th graders - your parents need to complete your registration so you can attend the Damascus Faith and Science Retreat. All missing paperwork is due to the office. Thursday there will be altar server training @ 1 pm.

Good Morning Everybody, Today is the last day of school! Following mass there will be a an awards ceremony beginning at 9:15. At 10:15-11:15, we will be honoring Mrs. McCoy and Mrs. Pierri with a retirement celebration! Next we will have our hotdog and lemonade lunch. School will dismiss at 1pm! Announcements 5/22/24 How can you tell if a tree is a Dogwood tree? By it’s Bark! 3rd and 4th Graders are traveling to Wayne Theatre after lunch for their movie party! Graduation Mass is tonight at 6:30 pm, with the reception to follow. The reception will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 4975 Childrens Hm Bradford Rd, Greenville, OH 45331 This morning is the Greenville Sports Awards, congratulations to all of our student-athletes. Thank you to everyone who helped to make Field Day a fun day! We would like to thank Mrs. Myers who organized the event , and the St. Mary’s Student Council who planned the activities! We would also like to thank the room parents who volunteered to assist with the classes, especially Mrs. Barga, Mrs. Hummel, and Mrs. Brewer! Announcements 5/14/24 The 7th and 8th Grades travel to Bergamo today for their retreat. Be sure to keep them in your prayers. Tomorrow is Field Day! Students, make sure to wear your class color and to bring a water bottle to school. It will be hot so we want to make sure we stay hydrated through out the day! Students you will also need to bring a towel. Wed. Morning is the Greenville Sports Awards! The awards begin at 7:45am and students will need to arrange their own transportation. Please notify the office if your student plans to attend. Wed. is also 8th Grade Graduation! Mass will begin at 6:30pm and the reception following will be held at the Knights of Colombus Hall. O God, Father of mercies, whose Only Begotten Son, as he hung upon the Cross, chose the Blessed Virgin Mary, his Mother, to be our Mother also; grant, we pray, that with her loving help, your Church may be more fruitful day by day, and exulting in the holiness of her children, may draw to her embrace all the families of the peoples. Announcements 5/13/24 Welcome back everybody! I am excited to be back in school and to finishing the year strong. I hope all mom’s had a wonderful Mother’s Day! Students and Staff, be sure to keep the 8th Graders in your prayers as they visit Boston on their class trip. We will restart I-Ready Testing Wednesday and will finish testing on Thursday. Make-Ups can be completed on either Friday or Monday of next week. Students, for recess, we will be using the playground area and the field behind the playground. Lord God, let the grace of the Holy Spirit come upon us, so that we may hold fast to your will with fidelity and show it forth in a holy life. Dear St. Mary’s Parents, I hope you all are well! I would like to take this time to provide an update in regards to Tuesday’s storm, as well as to share the good news that we will be able to return to School on Monday, May 13th! On Tuesday night, St. Mary’s School sustained damage to the roof of the building as a result of the high winds from the storm. The School notified the Archdiocese of Cincinnati of the damage and began cooperating with assessor’s to evaluate the extent of this damage. School administration also met with the Catholic School’s Office to develop a plan that would serve the best interests of our school family. Because student safety is of the upmost importance, part of this evaluation involved a safety inspection of the building with a structural engineer. After conducting this inspection, the engineer determined that the building remains structurally sound and safe, though the roof sustained damage which will require a roof replacement this summer. The engineer determined that the building was safe for students to resume classes and that we will be able to complete the school year . Out of an abundance of caution, St. Mary’s has implemented the following measures to ensure the greatest safety for our students per the recommendations of the engineer. ● Fencing has been erected to block off access to areas where possible loose debris could fall and pose a potential risk to pedestrians. We will utilize the main entrance for pick-up and drop off as usual but we ask that students do not linger in the parking lot near the fencing. ● The religion and the kindergarten classrooms will be relocated to other areas of the building. A temporary kindergarten classroom has been set up in the cafeteria. ● Outdoor recess will be held on the playground only. Due to the interruptions of the storm, St. Mary’s School will reassign the I-Ready assessments to provide the best opportunity for St. Mary’s students to be as successful as possible. Testing will be held Wednesday and Thursday of this week. St. Mary’s School is excited to wrap up the school year together. The school will be highlighting the students art projects and school projects from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Be sure to invite your family and friends. Parents who would like to donate cookies, please bring them in on Monday. The school will be open for visitors after each mass this weekend to preview the art so if you are unable to visit on Monday feel free to stop by after Mass. This past weekend was Mrs. Myers and Dylan Jones birthday! Be sure to wish them a happy birthday and Dylan please come to the office after announcements. This week St. Mary’s will be celebrating teacher appreciation week! Be sure to thank your teachers for all that they do! Student Council will be coming around this morning to collect the monetary donations for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Wednesday, Grades 5-8 will be going to the Northern Area Mass at St. Boniface in Piqua. Students, please have your parents complete the permission slip to be able to go. The weather is going to be beautiful today so we will be having lunch outside.
